It's the second day of KKN and we started our day by going to Balai Desa to question the Kepala Desa regarding the Desa itself. He mentioned how the people in Mekarjaya were mostly Farmers known as Buruh Tani and the others have flown off as TKI to Taiwan & many other countries. We called the lady who owns the house as Ibu Jun. Ibu Jun's husband works as a taxi driver in Jakarta. And amazingly the family could built a cozy home in the village along with a mini market right next to it. Bless this family because they were willing to accept us in their home.
On the second day, Daniel and Yanto showed up. And later on that night, the girls decided to go to Pasar Kaget (which only occurs once a week on a saturday night) while the boys chose to have some kicks of soccer. Like many other Pasar Kaget, they sell variety of stuff on each tent. Tents of kids garment; pirated CDs; accesorries; house equipments. And there were also gerobak of bakso, es campur, sekoteng, martabak. I couldn't get a clearer image of the Pasar Kaget but I hope this will do.
