KKN Day 5

19 Jan 2010
I never knew that doing laundry the traditional way would be such a hard thing to do. Especially the rinsing part. And since it's rainy season, it would take more than one day for them to dry up.
Today the guys went rat hunting in the sawah along with the locals. They caught about +50 rats. Rats were the main problems in the prairies.
We were supposed to stop by at the kepala desa but when we got to the balai desa no one was there but instead we met an old man who we assumed was a buruh tani. He did not speak Bahasa Indonesia but Javanese. A few people at my research group spoke Sundanese, but this man did not speak Sundanese either. So then Nanda managed herself to speak in Javanese and I ended up laughing at her and we got to a conclusion that the kepala desa and his crew already left the office. It was only 2.30pm at the time and we thought they leave at 4.
As we were making our way back, we stopped by at a small warung that serves coconut. So we went for a sip. Oh and I also found a fake oreo called oriorio! LOL
